My daughter and I made a Halloween Coloring Book!

One thing about my daughter Amelia is that she loves to create. Amelia has autism, but she has not let it hold her back in her nine years of life. She has such an amazing imagination, and I love finding her little art pieces and imaginative creations around the house. It makes it even more special when I can find little projects that give us a chance to be creative together.

So, with Halloween coming up, I decided to try something completely new, and I asked Amelia to help me:

We made our own Halloween coloring and activity book!

And I’m so excited that I finally get to share it with everyone.

How Our Little Halloween Project Started

I’ve been working on different creative projects lately, and I had the idea of making a Halloween activity book for kids. A book that parents, teachers, and caregivers could use as a way to help kids be creative and hone their problem-solving skills. But instead of just sitting down and making something I thought kids would like, I realized I had the perfect little creative consultant living in my house.

My daughter!

We started coming up with ideas for the kinds of pages that would be fun for kids to do during the Halloween season. We wanted it to feel festive and spooky without being too scary—something younger kids could enjoy at home, on a chilly fall afternoon, during a Halloween party, or whenever parents desperately need a few minutes of quiet.

What’s Inside the Book?

Our Kid’s Spook-Tastic Coloring & Activity Book is filled with Halloween-themed pages designed to let kids color, play, and use their imaginations.

There are adorable Halloween characters to color, activities to complete, mazes to solve, and creative pages where kids can come up with ideas of their own.

One of my favorites is the “What Will You Be for Halloween?” page, where kids get to design Halloween costumes for the characters.

There are also classic Halloween characters like this cute little Frankenstein:

And activities like helping a little ghost find his way through the maze to his pumpkin:

I wanted there to be enough variety that kids weren’t simply coloring page after page. They actually get to think, create, solve, and imagine along the way.

My Favorite Part Was Making It Together

As much as I love how the book turned out, this is probably the part that means the most to me.

This wasn’t just another project I made on the side. It became something my daughter and I could work on and be excited about together.

Seeing her ideas become part of an actual book was pretty special.

And now we have this little piece of our creativity that we’ll always be able to look back on and say, “We made that together.”

Meet Kid’s Spook-Tastic Coloring & Activity Book

If you have a little one who loves Halloween, coloring, puzzles, or creative activities, we would LOVE for them to have a copy of something we had so much fun creating.

It’s a fun screen-free activity for October, Halloween parties, classroom downtime, rainy fall days, road trips, or just a cozy afternoon at home.

Thank you for supporting our little project. Every single person who checks it out is supporting something that started right here at home between a mom, her very creative daughter, and a whole lot of love for Halloween.
