Life feels like a lot lately.

I don’t know about you, but everything that I am supposed to be doing is feeling overwhelming and overstimulating lately. As moms, we are expected to fill so many roles in our family’s lives, and this leaves very little room for our self-care role. I would do anything for a vacation right about now, but of course I do not have the money for that.

I want so badly to speed up life at times; I want to fast-forward to after I earn my degree’s and have a solid paying job, to owning our own home and having more opportunities to do things, and I want to be able to afford life and adventures without having to stress about it. On the flip side, that would mean fast-forwarding the next 9 years of raising my children, the memories and the life-altering moments, and the journey altogether. I know that one day I will look back and it will seem like it flew by and that it wasn’t that awful in the bad moments, but right now sometimes I want to just pack up our life and escape to paradise (even though I cannot afford it).

So, for now I will just take it a moment at a time. I will breathe, try to make time for myself, enjoy the little things, and make the most out of the opportunities that I do have. I am blessed enough to have children, go to college, be in a healthy relationship, have a job, have a place to live, have food eat, and to simply be health and alive.
